Jason Ward MPT, Cert MDT
Physical Therapist
I am a christian, a husband and father of four daughters. I’m a physical therapist, credentialed in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (MDT). I received my undergraduate degree from Harding University and continued at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, graduating with a Master’s of Physical Therapy.
Since graduating, I have worked in orthopedic physical therapy for over 16 years in both private practice and in large, orthopedic group settings. Early on, I worked several years alongside orthopedic surgeons and physiatrists treating a wide variety of patients. I also have developed sports performance programs for high school and college athletes focusing on strength, conditioning and athleticism.
I began specialized training through the McKenzie Institute of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) just a few years into my career and I've achieved credentialing as a certified MDT therapist. I’ve owned a private practice for nearly 9 years prior. I’ve been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, McKenzie Institute and National Strength and Conditioning Association. I've maintained an "Excellence in Outcomes Achievement" award for over 6 years, given by Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes (FOTO), the largest independent database of patient care episodes. Through FOTO I have ranked in the top 2% of all therapists collecting patient outcome data nation-wide and scored a 98% patient satisfaction score through that same period.
On the side, I’m the founder and host of an internationally-recognized podcast, the Mechanical Care Forum, where I interview industry leaders in my profession. I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, fly-fishing, hunting, and staying fit, and even more important to me is time spent with my wife, four daughters and my church family.
Projects
The Mechanical Care Forum is an internationally recognized audio podcast that I began in 2014. With it's center piece, the FREE weekly audio podcast developed to share the experience of leading clinicians, researchers, industry leaders, and authors to help clinicians professionally develop. Since its inception it has grown to include: a medical mission work, joint efforts and participation in additional podcasts with the McKenzie Institute USA, and a case study product, Case Conversations.
Medical Mission Trip to Cusco, Peru. Since 2011 I’ve been involved in a medical campaign partnering with the Iglesia de Cristo in Cusco, Peru. Annually, in early March, a team of more than 30 healthcare professionals have congregated to put on a clinic for four days. Medical Doctors, Optometrists, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physical Therapists, Nurses and other support personnel deliver care for free, to Peruvians who live in Cusco and many from the surrounding villages.
If you've been fortunate, financially, and wish to contribute to this good work and help provide a proper musculoskeletal examination and the appropriate treatment you can donate to this good cause.
